School Leaders

Jocelyn M. Velez is a dedicated educational leader who has proudly served as the Principal of PUC Community Charter Elementary School for more than a decade.

Raised in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, Mrs. Velez discovered her passion for education at an early age. As a student at San Fernando High School, she worked at a local middle school, helping students strengthen their reading skills and develop a love of literacy. This experience inspired her lifelong commitment to teaching and educational leadership.

Mrs. Velez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Arts in Education from Pepperdine University. During her graduate studies, she was introduced to the charter school movement and began her career in charter education, developing a passion for expanding educational opportunities for all students. She also earned both a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Single Subject Credential in English Language Arts, allowing her to teach at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Mrs. Velez began her career at PUC Lakeview Charter Academy before teaching at PUC Lakeview Charter High School. Her dedication to student achievement led her to serve as Assistant Principal, where she developed a passion for supporting teachers and building strong school communities. She later earned a Master of Arts in School Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Deeply rooted in the community she calls home, Mrs. Velez believes every child can succeed when provided with the right support, opportunities, and encouragement. She is honored to serve the families of the Northeast San Fernando Valley and remains committed to preparing students to become confident learners, compassionate leaders, and lifelong scholars.
